Heading off to the Harbor
Once we’ve managed to escape Bad Magic Bayou we’ll return to the noxious area of Spiral Rise and we’ll begin work on unlocking our next level: Spiller’s Harbor. Though we’re leaving behind a work of toxic waters and gloomy atmosphere don’t think that this is something unique to Bad Magic Bayou; since Gruntys lot has shown up in Spiller’s Harbor the place has gone from a resort to a haven for oil slicks and poisonous sludge. So with that information I’ll bet you can’t wait to get started on it. From the entrance of Bad Magic Bayou, let’s head south to enter Spiral Mountain from above.
Spiral Mountain
Once you’ve entered Spiral Mountain, pick up the 3 notes (61) to the south and approach the tree further ahead. Precariously placed within the branches of the tree is a Jiggy which we won’t be able to reach no matter how high we Flip Flap. However if you look to the left of the tree you’ll notice a crumbly pattern in the ground that should be quite familiar, let’s get drilling shall we? Stand over top of the crack and execute your Bill Drill ability; when the bough shakes, the Jiggy will fall. Once it’s been shaken free, go around the trees front to collect your next Jiggy (5).
From here let’s go about unlocking our next world. From your current position go back around the tree to the rear so that Banjo can’t be seen through the branches, and carry onto the right. Drop down from the ledge below and you’ll manage to spot Bozzeye’s Pack Whack Molehill to the right, pass the Molehill and keep walking right until we reach the Jinjo Oracle. Once there, we’ll head south and drop down the ledges and head south until we reach JiggyWiggys Temple. Head to the right and north to gain access inside. With our current collection sitting at 34 and the requirement at 24, we’re an entire world ahead!
JiggyWiggy’s Temple
You should know the drill by now; head up toward Jiggywiggy using either of the staircases on either side of him and initiate conversation. Once JiggyWiggy takes note of your current progress in the game he’ll allow you to unlock your next world by unlocking the entrance to the Jiggy Altar. Carry on down either side of the steps and enter the archway, pressing A once you reach the Jiggy Altar. Spiller’s Harbor lies in a completely unexplored area of Spiral Mountain that we’ll get to venture out to after this. Once Jiggywiggy has opened the doorway to Spiller’s Harbor our current total won’t be able to match the required sum of 39 Jiggies, so let’s head south to exit the Temple.
Spiral Mountain
Once you’ve left the Temple find your way back up to the Jinjo Oracle and then continue north to the vines located behind it and climb to Spiral Rise.
Spiral Rise
Once we’ve entered Spiral Rise we’ll naturally head to the north off toward Honey B’s Hive. Since we’re currently at exactly 8 Honeycomb Pieces we’ve recovered just the right amount to warrant our next Honeycomb unit extension! We’ve nearly collected the entire amount of Empty Honeycombs in the entire game yet, just a few more to go and we’ll have our health upgraded to its maximum. Once you’re ready, avoid the Gruntling patrolling around Spiral Rise and head north up the slope and into Honey B’s Hive.
Honey B’s Hive
Once you’ve entered the hive, walk northwards through the golden honey path and you’ll find Honey B at the end minding the counter. Press A while you stand in front of the counter in order to trade off your hard earned Empty Honeycombs for an extension. Now our current health tops off at 7 Honeycombs rather than 6, but with Gruntilda growing in power we’ll have to do the same. Unfortunately the power trip will have to be cut short as it looks like we won’t be able to get another extension just yet, as our current collection of 8 just doesn’t compare to the lofty requirement of 12. Let’s leave the Hive to return to Spiral Mountain.
Spiral Rise
From here, carry back to the south and then head right down the slope to go back to Spiral Mountain.
Spiral Mountain
Once we’ve jumped off the ledge we’ll continue to the left from the Jinjo Oracle until we reach Bozzeye’s Pack Whack mole hill bordering the shore. From here, jump up onto the ledge to the left and then head south while remaining on the ledge. Once you’ve done that head to the left as far as possible, you should be pressed right up against the wall. Now, execute a Flip Flap to access the above area with a single unit of Honey Energy. This is the area where we shook the Jiggy from the tree. Jump up again to reach the surrounding Bad Magic Bayou area. From here, head north until you reach Spiral Rise.
Spiral Rise
Head around the entrance to Bad Magic Bayou to the right making sure you take care of the Whiplash. Once you follow the sandy path to its end, you’ll notice a hole in the wall which harbors a Chompa along with a Jiggy on the ledge opposite. You’ll have to jump into the air next to the hole and execute a Rat-A-Tat Rap to get rid of the Chompa, then jump onto the ledge in front of it. From here carry onto the left and use your Flap Flip ability to access the heightened ledge. Once you’re on top grab the Jiggy (6) and drop back down to the right, climb the vines and then head north to the next area.
Spiral Mere
Inside the divot you’ll find a Beehive which you’re free to crack open, as well as 2 notes (63) for the taking. Once you’re finished, jump to the north and collect the 2 notes (65) here as well, making sure to avoid the Grunt Weed. Let’s head onto the section of salmon colored island which continues off the mainland to the north and collect our next note (66) as well as meet a new face.
Dolphin Dinner Dash!
As you touch down onto the island a friendly dolphin will poke his head out of the water to greet you, asking if you’d like to play a game. Upon confirmation that dolphin states that he’ll give you 15 chances to feed him 10 eggs via Breegul Blast mode, if you manage to land 10 eggs in his mouth you’ll be awarded with his treasure. To make things more challenging the dolphin will randomly appear on one of the four cardinal directions around the island, diving between each of the locations every time he gives you a chance to get some egg on his face.
There’s only so much room for error with this mini-game, and if you manage to miss the dolphin more than 5 times then you’ll be unable to satisfy his hunger and you’ll miss out on a chance at his treasure. To make this challenge easier, the 15 directions the dolphin will appear in are as followed: Up, left, up, right, up, left, right, up, left, up, right, left, up, right, left. This pattern will remain the same until you’re able to secure a win, so just be sure to keep your reaction time and reflexes at an all time high and you’ll manage to hit the dolphin every time.
After you’ve managed to curb the Dolphins hunger pangs with 10 successfully fired eggs, he’ll call off the firing and thank you for feeding him. Once he’s managed to finish swallowing the shelled projectile he’ll reveal his deep sea treasure for your efforts; a Jiggy (7) that will appear on the island behind you. With the Dolphin dinner dash concluded we’ll turn around and snatch up the Jiggy that he kindly left behind.
After we’ve finished with that mini-game, let’s continue over to Spiller Harbor by jumping into the water from the salmon colored island and heading then north until we come to a raging waterfall. From here, you’ll manage to spot a plot of land with a gray staircase and two orange barrels. Jump onto the land from the water and approach the barrels and jump on the lids, collecting two notes (68) as you do so. Head back down to the to the grass and up the full flight of stairs to enter the next world: Spiller’s Harbor.
