MISSION 6: ST. PETERSBURG – STAGE 3: STREETS
Objectives:
1- Contact Valentin (Secret Agent)
2- Pursue Ourumov and Natalya (Agent)
3- Minimize Civilian Casualties (Agent)
M Briefing: Get after them, 007! We can’t afford to let the trail go cold and the chances are they’ll lead you straight to Trevelyan. Keep a clear head though, any civilian casualties on the streets of St. Petersburg could create an unfortunate international incident. We believe that Valentin Zukovsky is still in the area – he may be able to help you.
Q Branch: No gadgets this time, 007. Though you should be on the lookout for hardware the Russians may have left lying around. Keys in the ignition and all that, old chap.
Moneypenny: I don’t think she’s worth the trouble, James. Perhaps you should be looking closer to home for a more reliable woman.
MISSION 6: ST. PETERSBURG – STAGE 3: STREETS – MAPS
These declassified maps from MI6 give a satellite view of the Streets – our intelligence has also taken great care to provide internal blueprints for any area that our cameras haven’t been able to peer inside of, giving you complete visibility of every location in your mission. Crucial provisions like Body Armor and hidden Weapons have also been detailed inside the dossier, along with other points of interest during the assignment.
Click here to expand the dossier and take a closer look at the maps provided within.
You may use these maps before the mission starts to familiarize yourself with the region, and refer to them throughout as you need them.
Good luck, 007!
THE STREETS OF ST. PETERSBURG
You’re out of the military archives! But Natalya has gotten kidnapped by Ouromov behind the scenes, so you need to catch up with them before they escape Russia. In the streets of St. Petersburg, 007 will make use of his contacts and his wit.
Walk forward and clear this area of guards. Before you climb into the tank, you have another stop to make. Step out of this lot and go left. Guards will follow but they are no trouble. Within the first building of this alleyway will be Valentin. Talk to him, and he will (somehow) think of a way to slow down Ourumov. Exit. There is some body armor to your left inside another building if you like, but otherwise head back to the tank.
Even though this scene from the movie is famous for James Bond making his way through St. Petersburg in a Russian tank, this particular mission isn’t quite the same. In my opinion, this is better done on foot, where it is easier to kill enemies from a distance, avoid mines and obstacles, and strafe. I would suggest that you run the rest of the mission, but using the tank works just as well. You can run over enemies and gun or rocket them down. Make sure to always take the left path when given the choice. Landmines are always on the right.
Reach the end of the stage in the right amount of time to accomplish the mission. Make a point to avert your path away from civilians running around. If you kill ten of them, you will fail the mission.
