1: It’s the first Pokémon game to be remade on 3DS!

Fans have been anticipating a Ruby and Sapphire remake for years.

Considering the engine and capabilities of 3DS games it’s a really exciting thing to know that one of the older games will be remade using the new 3-D models and graphics. Imagine all the old locations we visited! Rustboro City, Mt Chimney, Fortree City and so many more nostalgic locations. As well as that we’ll get to listen to all those tracks remade as well as new and improved character models. It’s going to be exciting to see how Nintendo will remake this classic.

2: We’ll be revisiting the Hoenn Region!

Hoenn has a lot of unique areas to explore.

Not since 2005 have we seen the Hoenn region, that’s over 9 years that we’ve been waiting. Hoenn felt unique when compared to the other regions, it’s sunny and tropical setting gave it a real cheery feel to it. It also had a fair set of unique locations as well; its vast sea, hot and ash filled northern mountains the Sky Pillar, Mosdeep City and a whole other bunch of locations. Be sure to pack your tropical attire folks, it’s off to Hoenn we go!

3: It could be a sequel!

Team Magma and Team Aqua could return in full force, with a much more determined goal and better outfits and themes.

Noticing the use of wording from Nintendo in their promotions and the actual trailer, the word “New” seems to pop up quite frequently. Back when Soul Silver and Heart Gold were announced they did use the same wording, but until we see any footage it can also be assumed it’ll be a sequel to the previous Ruby and Sapphire. This thought is backed up even more by the additional title to the names for each game; “Omega” Ruby and “Alpha” Sapphire, and the main Pokémon on the covers of each game having some odd aura and glow around them; I’m no expert, but they didn’t have that back in the past ruby and sapphire.

4: Or it could be a remake!

The battle between land, sea and air!

The original story to Ruby and Sapphire was decent enough, it had a message to convey in the form of natural forces clashing against each other. The unique enemy team that either game had worked quite well. I really wouldn’t mind a remake, as I still love to this day all the components that the original Ruby and Sapphire presented and seeing them all in 3D graphics would be so awesome.

5: It’s another Pokémon game!

As do I. Pokémon has the charm to it which makes it good in each instalment.

No matter the setting and story, Pokémon will always be fun and enjoyable; no matter the generation it’s based in. With X and Y only being last year’s it’s great to see that Nintendo are on top form with releasing Pokémon yearly on the 3DS. I can only hope that Wii U gets some proper Pokémon love in the future, something like Colosseum or XD on Wii U would be incredible. But anyhow Ruby and Sapphire are finally getting revisited, and nothing could have me any happier.
