Invisible potion is no show
Deep within a hidden annex of Mad Monster Manor, Klungo is hard at work at his next experiment; the setting providing the perfect mad genius atmosphere. What has the minion gotten himself into this time? Turns out that the poisonous swamp water around Bad Magic Bayou can be refined to create an invisibility potion that Klungo plans to distribute among the Gruntlings. An army of invisible enemies, Gruntilda would be unstoppable should this plan follow out. Having finished his monologue Klungo lifts the vial to his lips and downs the contents. Euchh…Enjoy your bog beverage… While the potion allows Klungo invisibility, it only lasts for a few seconds before blinking and rendering Klungo visible once more, must be the fungus. With temporary invisibility out of the question Klungo is forced back to the drawing board to have another go at the next batch. His attention however is snapped to the Witchy Warp where Banjo and Kazooie have entered the hidden laboratory. There’s no time for correction now, the potion will have to do for Klungo’s sake in a little game he likes to call Hide and Smash.
Hide and Smash – Klungo Boss Fight
Akin to the Battle in the Bluff Barn previous, Klungo will activate his protective force field from the get go and lob three vials at you. You should be fairly used to dodging the vials by now, just keep running and keep your personal space in mind. Once the oaf has exhausted his trio of vials his shield will dissipate and he’ll run ’round the room for a better vantage point. However, this time the invisibility potion will take effect rendering Klungo invisible. It’s not hopeless on locating the meager minion though; every few steps Klungo will begin to flicker, clearly the botched ability of the potion incapable of working properly. Use this ample time to roll into the semi-visible Klungo and you’ll enter the next phase.
Just as last time, Klungo will set himself up to throw 3 more vials while hiding cowardly behind his shield. Once he’s exhausted his supply he’ll begin walking around the room with his shield still activated. Once he relocates he’ll throw an additional 3 vials before his shield deactivates and he’s left to run flickering in his transparent medium state. Track him down and attack him with either a roll to cover a lot of ground or any other attack in your arsenal you see fit such as the Rat-A-Tat Rap or Pack Whack. Once you manage to collide with Klungo you’ll enter the third and final phase.
Klungo’s last stage is the toughest appropriately enough; this time the green guy will needlessly break 9 vials in an attempt to deplete your honey energy. He’ll end up tossing 3 vials while situated at one point in the room, then moving while shielded to another vantage point. As soon as Klungo has gotten rid of all 9 vials his shield will go down once more and he’ll begin his final trek of Hide and Smash. Let’s find Klungo’s faint flicking frame once more and attack him as soon as we have an idea where he’s gotten to. Make sure you dish out the damage here or you’ll have to face the onslaught of 9 vials once more.
Finding himself on the fatal receiving end of the Bear and Birds attack, Klungo leaves the Minion’s Workshop defeated, claiming that he’ll spend more time working on his next potion which should be a big surprise for Banjo and Kazooie. Yeah yeah, tell your story walking Klungo. Once Klungo returns to Mad Monster Manor he’ll flee down the narrow hall leaving a Jiggy and Mumbo Totem in his wake. Locate the Witchy Warp and go back to the Manor, collect the Mumbo Token (1) and the Jiggy (5). Now that we’re finished with the Manor let’s find our way back outside. From the last room, continue left and up until you bump into the Chompa, take him out and head right and up until you locate the staircase. Climb down the stairs and head south into the last stretch of hallway. Once you reach the end, head south out the front door.
