CHALLENGE 8: WHO’S THE DADDY?

Scenario: Here’s a challenge you can really get yourself wrapped up in! Making an impromptu appearance in Ghoulhaven’s Workshop, Cooper is tasked with defeating as many meandering Mummies as he possibly can within the confines of a single minute. This is complicated somewhat given that each Mummy will have to be coaxed into the flames in the center of the room to count towards your score. The more Mummies you manage to incinerate, the higher your reward will be, with 7 being the target to match.

Strategy: There’s a bit of method to the madness if you can manage to locate all three large urns around the Workshop, as each one harbors a Cursed Mummy inside. Usually this would mean bad news, as Cursed Mummies are one of the most cumbersome Ghoulies that hinder your progress. However, if you restrain yourself from smashing the urns open and instead hoist them overhead, you’ll manage to toss it into the central flames and effectively massage your Mummies defeated score. From where you start off, you’ll manage to spot a single large urn to your immediate left. While things are still relatively quiet, grab the large urn with A and head towards the central fire. Be sure to line up your throw properly to avoid freeing the Cursed Mummy inside and you’ll add a single Mummy to your score – 6 more to go now! We’ll focus on hitting the meandering Mummies into the fire at this point, so locate the nearest Mummy and do your best to line yourself up and send them into the ensuing flames. You’ll likely have some company at this point, so avoid their swings and focus on getting your Mummies closer to the center of the room. Now that we’ve brought our counter up to three with our total Mummies incinerated, let’s have some leeway by tossing our second large urn into the fire. You’ll likely run into some interference here, so once you’ve gotten a hold of the second urn found in the corner of the Workshop just to the left of the first urn you’ll need to line up your approach carefully to avoid breaking it prematurely on one of the Mummies. Once you’ve done that you’ll be about halfway through your total time, so let’s find the final urn and then focus predominately on hitting the rest of our undead friends into the fire. From the corner where we found our second urn, follow the berth of the fireplace clockwise and you’ll spot the third urn hidden behind a large pot just to the left of the third mouth of the fireplace. Line up your approach for one final time and then toss the urn into the flames, bringing your total score to 5 Mummies incinerated and three more to defeat for the Platinum. From here you’ll just have to concentrate on luring the remaining Mummies over to the nearest mouth of the fire and giving them a generous smacking until they fall into the flames. Be sure to avoid taking any damage that will send you into a dizzied state, as this is usually followed up with a hardy wallop from a Mummy staf and keep your attention on one Mummy at a time for best results. Once you’ve managed to burn up at least 7 Mummies you’ll walk away with the Platinum medal.

Bronze Medal: Defeat 1 Mummy within the time limit.

Silver Medal: Defeat 3 Mummies within the time limit.

Gold Medal: Defeat 5 Mummies within the time limit.

Platinum Medal: Defeat 7 Mummies within the time limit.
