Diddy Kong Pilot Nintendo Retrospective
This preview is based on information gathered at the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
Take to the sky with Diddy Kong Pilot — a thrill-a-minute racing game from Nintendo and Rare. Developed exclusively for Game Boy Advance, Diddy Kong Pilot delivers ultra-realistic action with an advanced Tilt Motion Sensor control system. You can control your plane just by tilting your Game Boy Advance, or if you prefer, the Control Pad can be used as an alternate control method.
Diddy Kong Pilot features ten background environments, each created with an intricate attention to detail. There are 24 race tracks in all, not including the 36 Dogfight and Battle levels designed specifically for multiplayer action. Other modes of play include Story, Battle, Dogfight, Clock Race and Tournament.
Like Diddy Kong Racing for Nintendo 64, Diddy Kong Pilot encourages players to use a variety of offensive and defensive power-ups. A cool new addition to DKP is the ability to carry more than one weapon. If you find yourself under attack, you can try to get away by performing loops, rolls and other mid-air maneuvers.
Delivering a kooky cast of characters and carefully hidden secrets to unlock, Diddy Kong Pilot is a great racing game which demonstrates the wide-open possibilities for awesome games on Game Boy Advance. Look for Diddy Kong Pilot to take off in 2002.
