Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers Nintendo Retrospective
This preview is based on information gathered at the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
Donkey Kong is back, starring in his very first puzzle game! The perpetually annoying Kremlings are causing trouble again, this time by trying to force DK out of his comfy jungle crib.
Donkey Kong retaliates by dropping colored coconuts on the Coconut Crackers game board as a Kremling slowly creeps around shrinking the playing field. When the coconuts hit the jungle floor, they break open and fill in squares with colored paint. By creating rectangles and squares with paint splashes of the same color, Donkey Kong can call on his jungle buddies to attack the invading Kremling and drive him back.
Coconut Crackers will feature different modes of play based on this addictive premise. You can guide DK on an adventure across DK Island, test yourself with Cranky Kong’s challenges, or face up to three friends in a coconut crackin’ battle. Developed exclusively for Game Boy Advance by Rare, Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers is scheduled to be released in November 2001.
