Kinect Sports Rivals Rare Retrospective
First unveiled at E3 2013, three years on from the announcement of the original Kinect Sports, this is the game to launch the series into a new generation and showcase a new level of motion-controlled precision. From the fine wrist movements needed to carve a perfect Wake Racing line to the tight handholds keeping you in play near the peak of a Climbing challenge, the enhanced fidelity can be felt in every event.
Kinect Sports Rivals opens with a bang as the new Kinect for Xbox One captures your appearance, maximises your potential and unleashes you as a mighty in-game Champion. As soon as your one-of-a-kind athlete reaches the island where all the action happens, where battles both global and personal are fought daily on pounding waves and towering stacks, target ranges and neon arenas, the competition becomes your life.
You’ll face off against other Champions from across the globe, either directly controlled by players or competing in their stead (using a playing style remembered by the game itself) while they’re offline. Xbox Friends become in-game Rivals, joining other intelligently matched challengers to be taken on and taken down. Putting in the time and boosting your XP leads to ever greater rewards and opportunities!
Any worthwhile competition requires a strong set of teams, and during this period in its long history, the island is dominated by three continually clashing forces: noble Eagle Legion, primal Wolf Clan and cunning Viper Network. One of the key moments in your Champion’s sporting life will be successful qualification for one of these teams. Which one you set your sights on is up to you…
Kinect Sports Rivals’ first hands-on showing occurred at Gamescom 2013 when Wake Racing, Climbing and Champion creation all went on display; Target Shooting, Bowling, Tennis and Soccer were subsequently blown wide open on the road to release day. And following a Wake Racing-focused Preseason edition at the Xbox One system launch in November, the full version of the game accelereated onto the Xbox One shelves on April 8th 2014. See you out there!
