Ah, rumours … don’t you just love them? For months we’ve been trying to stamp out the embers of the fire that surround the fact that Rare might be dead and / or closing and just when we think we’ve turned a corner, along comes another little bit of gossip and this time it concerns the fact that Rare might be changing its name next year.

The news comes from Go Nintendo, who themselves got wind of the news via N1ntendo.nl, who reveal that Microsoft are planning on bringing the curtain down on Rare as we know it.

So what do you reckon? Microsoft Game Studios UK? Lionhead North? Codemasters Twycross? What will Rare be called if this news turns out to be true? *sniff*
