Kinect Sports Series goes HD, Rare Gamer’s 2014 April Fools!
The following article was originally published on March 28th, 2014 as a lead-up to April 1st – April Fools Day, we can now say that everything found below is a complete fabrication.
As far as we know, Rare has no plans to remake Kinect Sports or Kinect Sports: Season Two for the Xbox One, and the pre-order card was created specifically for this event.
We’ve kept the article below for posterity for future viewing, if you’re a wayward time traveler if you have any interest in reading up on our timely prank years on.
Cheers!
Did you know I’ve only just preordered Kinect Sports Rivals? It’s true, I’ve been procrastinating for weeks and finally after reporting every nuance of the game I saw it fit to get off my backside and make sure I got a copy on release day.
Interestingly enough, there seems to be some sort of promotion going on, and when I asked to put down my reserve for Kinect Sports: Rivals, I was asked which team I would be joining. “Viper” I said without skipping a beat. To my surprise I was given a Pull Reel Keyring with Team Viper’s logo on the front, assured that I would need it for the months ahead. Before I could take off with my new memorabilia, I was given the following advert. I’ve taken a picture with the Keyring included as my Pre-order bundle collection:
Naturally I asked the man behind the counter what it was all about, and he told me that Rare is remaking their first two Kinect Sports games for the Xbox One, with better graphics, more Kinect integration and new online modes as well – essentially it’s the original Kinect Sports titles fully realized with Kinect Sports Rivals.
I wouldn’t necessarily call the year 2015 ‘soon’, but I am pretty excited to see how both titles are going to look and feel with the power of the Xbox One backing them up.
We’ll be adding new categories in the Xbox One section for these two new remastered titles from Rare so be sure to check out Rareware Archives for our selection of tips, achievements extra goodies when Kinect Sports and Kinect Sports: Season Two are back in action!
